And yet it moves (2)

On March 17, 2018 from 10:00 AM 4:00 PM I had with 32 members in our St. Benedict Center a day about the relationship of astronomy and faith. In the evening we had bad luck and a full covered sky - but our mind was open and we had a good day together sharing about astronomy and faith. The first step in the program was to look on fascinating pictures of the night sky and the stars that I´ve taken with my telescopes in Münsterschwarzach. From our solar system we made a travel at the end of the universe - so wide we can see with our telescopes: near by a distance of 12 Billion lightyears!Afterwards we read together the first pages in the bible: the story of creation. Our point of view was the relationship between God and his creation and to his creators. Most interesting was the relationship between God and humankind. In the afternoon first stepped into to the story of the star of Bethlehem and founnd out the secrets with it. At least we share us our point of view and meaning for me personally. For me it is the young born child Jesus Christ the really STAR of Bethlehem. Later we go on with the differences between science and faith. They are really different and go not the same way, but two good ways for us to get aware what´s going on in our reality. So we find not only what differs. We find also what is the connection between both for us: to see the world in a better view: "with two eyes".
